In my opinion one of the most important aspects in order to be perceived as an artist by your audience is to start explaining why you’re an artist, what are your motivations, what are the things you’re against to and to certain extent how you produce your art.

For me, all of the above are the components of an Artist Statement. Here is Artist Statement.
