Patrick Demarchelier is, no doubt, one of most acclaimed fashion photographers, his work has been at the center of the most recognized fashion magazines such as American, British and Paris Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity Fair. Demarchelier’s work is sold by upscale art galleries such as Christie’s.
Demarchelier’s work is difficult to classify. In my opinion, despite that most of his work is about glamour and fashion, the essence — the very core of it — is about aesthetics and storytelling, which makes it more than just fashion work, Demarchelier’s work is actually fine art photography at its best expression.
This is one of my favorite Demarchelier’s images, the perfect aesthetics, the minimalist style, the composition, the beautiful tonal contrast and organic elements (water, stone) combined with the almost abstract portion of the human body make this image a one of a kind piece of art.
